Most Tesla damage does not need a new panel. We sculpt dents out, blend paint only where it is actually needed, and hand your car back in days instead of weeks — usually for a fraction of the body shop quote.
Jim brought us his Model 3 after a certified shop in Frederick told him the rocker section under his driver door had to be replaced. Their number was over $8,000, and two weeks without his car.
We sculpted the panel back into shape with leverage tools. Then our painter — twenty years of color matching behind him — blended the repair in place instead of refinishing the whole side of the car.
Jim paid roughly $5,000 less and had his Tesla back in days. There was no insurance claim, so nothing was added to his vehicle history report.
Two reasons, and neither is that your car is hard to fix.
The first is heat. Manufacturers limit how hot a panel can get near a high-voltage battery pack, which rules out the full-panel bake cycle a paint booth is built around. A shop set up for volume refinishing does not want a job that cannot go through the booth.
The second is that replacement is easier to quote. A new panel is a part number. A sculpted repair takes a technician who can read metal.
Our repairs are small enough to cure at low temperature, or need no curing at all — so the heat problem never comes up. We also know how to safely power down these vehicles before we start.
SMART stands for Small to Medium Area Repair Technology. The idea is simple: treat the damage, not the whole panel.
Paintless dent repair is the purest version — we work the metal back from behind or pull it from the face, and your factory paint never gets touched. It is the same finish that left the factory, because it is the finish that left the factory.
When a repair does need paint, we blend a small section rather than refinishing the panel and its neighbors. Same principle, same result: less cost, less time, and the rest of your car untouched.
What we fix on Teslas: door dings and parking lot dents, hail damage across hoods, roofs and quarter panels, rocker panels, fenders and door skins, bumper dents, scuffs and creases, scratches and paint chips, and curb rash on wheels.
If a panel is torn, creased through, or structurally compromised, we will tell you straight away and point you to someone who should do the work. We would rather lose the job than take one we cannot do properly.
Our shop is at 4 S Main Street in downtown Longmont, and we work on Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck. Tesla owners come to us from Boulder, Loveland, Erie, Berthoud and across the north Front Range, and customers have shipped cars to us from out of state.
Front Range hail season runs roughly April through September, and a Tesla is a lot of flat, wide panel to catch it. A hood and roof full of dents is the best case for paintless repair there is. We work with your insurance if you are filing, and we will give you a straight cash number if you are not.
